Early Trade and Free Agency Rumors

There is no offseason in the NBA. While games may not being played, the basketball world is far from quiet. The NBA Draft is tomorrow and Free Agency starts on July 1st so there's a ton circulating around social media right now so here are the most notable ones: 

• Kyrie Irving and the Nets are not agreeing on a contract extension as of right now. He could play out his contract in Brooklyn and then test free Agency as an UFA in 2023 or could request a trade. Brooklyn's reluctancy comes from Irving's tendencies to miss a large amount of games in the regular season and rumored off the court issues. 

• Brooklyn's Kevin Durant is another player to watch. KD went to Brooklyn to play with Kyrie and if the Nets do not offer Irving an extension, executives believe that Durant will ask out of Brooklyn.

• Bradley Beal plans to decline his player option and become an UFA. Unfortunately for contending teams looking to add another star, it is likely that he only declined to sign a larger and more long term contract. Beal Tweeted "Wait huh? Lol" a few minutes after the "news" came out and fans seem to believe the two are related. Once he actually declines or accepts his player option we'll have a better idea on his future. 

• PJ Tucker declines his player option and becomes a UFA. Even at 37, Tucker's IQ, elite defense, and intensity had made him a player that everyone wants on their team and rightfully so. He was a huge part of Miami's deep run and other teams want to attempt to emulate that with PJ on their team. The good news for Heat fans is that similarly to Beal, he declined his player option for a larger contract with more years. Miami can offer him more money than any other team but it is unclear if they are willing to give him the 3 year / 30 million dollar deal that other teams may offer him. 

• There has been a lot of discussion about Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell's future in Utah. Both are not assumed to be long term pieces for the Jazz and are likely to request a trade. Mitchell has been tied to Miami and New York but nothing official has been announced. Gobert could be traded as early as draft night.
