TRADE SZN! + 2022 Draft

As free agency (July 1st) and the player option deadlines (June 29) approaches fans get a clearer image of what teams are going to look like next season. Monday is expected to be HUGE day for NBA news so right now I'll just outline what we know so far:

FREE AGENCY

  • Christian Wood was traded to the Mavs in a 4 team deal. Houston got the bulk of the trade by acquiring Boban Marjanovic, Sterling Brown, Trey Burke, Marquese Chriss, the draft rights to Tyty Washington and two future 2RP. Minnesota received draft rights to Walker Kessler and draft rights to Wendell Moore Jr. Memphis received the draft rights to Jake LaRavia.
  • Jerami Grant to the Blazers for a few picks (2 FRP, 1 2RP)
  • Even though he was previously expected to stay in Miami, PJ Tucker is likely to going to Philadelphia to reunite with former teammate James Harden and sign a larger deal than what Miami is going to offer.
  • The Knicks made a few questionable decisions on draft night including giving up the 11th pick for 3 future firsts and also to dump Kemba Walker's salary. They now have around 18M in cap space and are attempting to trade Cam Reddish to get around 23 million which they will offer to Jalen Brunson.
  • Bradley Beal is expected to opt out of his player option and receive the supermax from the Wizards. There was belief he was going to request a trade but it seems as if he has decided to stay in Washington at least for the first half of the season.
  • Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant are at what seems to be a standstill right now with the Nets organization. Kyrie still has not received an extension and KD will still request a trade if Kyrie is traded.
